Caribou Hills Fire, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, June 21, 2007 1:04 pm AKDT
The Caribou Hills fire started June 19, 2007 and has rapidly expanded to several thousand acres. It is burning on the Kenai Peninsula in an area with many beetle killed spruce trees.
GINA provides real-time imagery to the Alaska Fire Service and Alaska Interagency Coordination Center (AICC) in support of wildfire management.
